Founded in 2021, the company was built on the extensive experience of professionals who have successfully delivered major infrastructure projects across South Africa for more than two decades. Our leadership team has held senior management positions within some of the country’s most respected construction organisations and has overseen projects valued in excess of billions of rand.
Today, NMD Construction continues to build on this legacy by delivering innovative engineering solutions, exceptional workmanship, and projects completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Kanyiso Nqabeni
Kanyiso Nqabeni is a seasoned construction management professional with 17+ years of
industry experience. He holds a National Diploma in Construction Management and Quantity
Surveying from Eastern Cape Technikon and is a registered professional with SACPCMP.
Throughout his career, he has managed large-scale infrastructure projects across South Africa and Lesotho, including roads, airports, water supply systems, and bridges, with contract values exceeding R5 billion. His expertise spans site and contract management, civil engineering, and project execution, making him a valuable leader in the construction sector.

Gunyaziwe ‘Gee’ Makaula
Gunyaziwe Makaula is a highly experienced civil engineer with a career spanning over three decades in infrastructure development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Commerce from the University of Natal.
He has been professionally registered with ECSA and SACPCMP since 1997. A former Director at Rumdel Construction, he has led and managed major infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water supply systems, and viaducts. His expertise in project management, construction engineering, and strategic leadership has been pivotal in the successful execution of large-scale projects across South
Africa.

Gerald Dreyer
Gerald Dreyer is a seasoned civil engineer and business leader with 35+ years of experience in the construction industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the University of Cape Town and is professionally registered with SACPCMP and ECSA. Since joining Rumdel Construction in 1990, he has progressed to the role of Managing Director, overseeing major infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, water supply schemes, and viaducts, with contract values exceeding R5 billion.
His expertise in project management, construction engineering, and strategic leadership has been instrumental in delivering complex infrastructure projects across South Africa.
